About
Freelance Filmmaker, Drone Operator and Camera Trainee
Hello and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Marcus van Rest and I am a camera trainee looking for opportunities in camera departments with the ultimate aim to become a Director Of Photography.
I’m a graduate from Bristol’s University of West England (UWE) Filmmaking course and am based between Bristol and London.
In addition to the productions over the three years on the course, I’ve undertaken a range of work experience, runner and camera assistant positions including for Wordley Creative (Ninja Warrior TV ad), ITV Studios (Emmerdale), ITV Studios (This Morning), Little Dot Studios (Digital content for Red Bull) and Higham & Co (Corporate videos).
I have a full clean manual driving licence and my own transport. In addition, I have a valid A2 CofC Drone Certification, am a confident van driver, am alternative fuelled vehicle trained (4.25 tonne) – thanks to spending a summer as a Tesco delivery driver, have a powerboating Level 2 Coastal Licence, an Emergency First Aid certificate and a valid extended DBS check.
I am trained on Black Magic, Sony Fx6s and Arri Alexia cameras and I am proficient in Premiere Pro, Pro Tools, Lightroom, Photoshop, After Effects, Logic Pro X, Powerpoint, Word, Excel.
I’d love to discuss any opportunities you may have. Details on how to reach me are on my ‘Contact’ page or click here.
